Born in 1915, Myrt Buchanan-Duma was the youngest of her four other siblings. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest in 1920's, Myrt did not let anything stop her from doing what she wanted.

 

Myrt was always known as the" fun aunt", who took her nieces and nephews out sledding or swimming in the local swimming hole. Even at the age of 101, she still had the "fun aunt" title. Myrt was my great great aunt.

In 2018, I decided I wanted to create activewear for women who want to get outdoors. We focus on clothing that fits all women, regardless of size, shape or ability. In an outdoor participation report for 2017, they found that women's outdoor participation is still behind men.

 

We think that is ridiculous.

Myrt did not let anything stop her from getting outdoors. Neither should you.

​

That's why I named our ethically sourced, outdoor performance apparel brand that focuses on empowering women to get outdoors, after my great great aunt.
